Well, this is a team sport....so technically, most hockey players get points because of who they play with. I still say Rex is of value to this team, and if he is scoring well, why get rid of him?! Anyways, we can agree to disagree. I don't consider EC a lock as a top 2 liner. I would like him to be, but for him to play on the top two in Pittsburgh means that he has to be successful on the wing. If he can do that, move him up. I think Staal needs more time on the top two lines to see if he can produce before moving him down. Just my 2 cents.

Recchi gets the points because of who he plays with & 1st PP time, Maybe you put Staal back where they told him he was going to play 3rd line center, But IDIOT MT doesn't believe in matching lines or should I say & believe that he isn't smart enough to match lines, EC is either a top 2 line player or he has to be traded to get that player

Well, I am not ready to jump on board and call Therrien an idiot....especially not just 3 games into the new season. He is experimenting with the line combos, and trying different things. If EC is not a 3rd line center, where would you play him? Who would you play at third line center? I personally think Recchi is still a worthy member of the team, but would not play him on the top line. Last year he finished 3rd on the team with 68 points, and he has 3 points in 3 games so far this season. He has consistently scored 65-70 points, and 24-28 goals per season since the lockout. Not exactly ready for the glue factory in my books.

The IDIOT coach is also a problem he doesn't believe in matching lines, so therefore he has no 3rd line shutdown line.
EC is not now nor we he ever be a 3rd line center, But no one can seem to get through to Planet Therrien about that, Mark Recchi also sucks & if he was a horse the would of shot him long ago, MAF played well, although the Kovalev goal was SOFT

Let's hope they pull it together soon. They have many of the right ingredients. Defense and goaltending our biggest liability at present....it needs to improve. But then again, why state the obvious!
